Question External Burners Issue

Primary system is HP 8560w, Win7Pro, 32GB mem, 500GB SSD on an HP dock station. Two USB external burners (HP 1040 series) running thru USB ports on dock.
Just noticed today that these drives are not showing in Explorer, Disk Management, etc.
Yet when I plug either into an older 8150p, or family member's Dell and Toshiba laptops these burner are identified immediately..
Have tried them on all 5 USB ports on the 8560w and on all 4 ports on the dock and none are recognizing the drives.
Help!

Does this system detect other USB devices correctly?

Have no issues with other USB devices on any ports (laptop or dock) with iPhone, printer, several external HD's, Wacom tablet, etc. Seems all devices are responsive except for the two HP series CD/DVD drives.

I even disconnected the 8560w from dock to test whether drives would be listed in Explorer and Disk Management but no luck

Does "etc" include Device manager?

Can you see it with USBDeview?

Hey, guys, thanks for your input but happened upon the "Add Devices" page and both items were listed but somehow were tagged as being 'disabled'. Changed the setting and they are now viewable in Explorer, Device Manager and Disk Management.
