Dear Members,
I am starting somewhere from the middle of my problem.
My DELL VOSTRO 2520 stopped showing anything except the cursor after automatic update from windows 8 to 8.1
I tried all possible ways to start it and finally I followed some instructions to creating the recovery disc. I created it by connecting my External Hard Drive (500 GB), which did not support anyway. My DELL laptop is not yet recovered. But today my priority is to recover all my data from my External Hard Drive which can not be seen since I prepared a recovery disc on my External Hard Drive. When I connect this External Hard Drive to my laptop, it shows up only as Recovery Disc and of 37 GB only.
Can I get some solution please.

Waiting curiously for the support.

Regards

Hey Abhijit. When you made the recovery disk, this probably created it's own partition and thus creating a conflict with the ones which were already on the drive. You might be able to recover your data, as long as you don't try to write anything on it. But probably a portion of what you had on the HDD is overwritten by the recovery disk data and it might make some of your files irretrievable. I'd suggest that you try some of the solutions from this thread here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html

I hope that you are able to get all of your important data. Good luck.
