External Drive not working properly

D-Link DNS - 313 External 1T Drive seen in "Device Manager" , but not in "Disk Management" and "My computer", used for Server Backup , but when connected to Workstation , works fine , detected,accessible. But issue same on Server 2008.

Kindly Suggest , as my back up is on Hold.

Hey itsbama. Perhaps is some sort of weird incompatibility issue. Has it worked properly at any time with this computer? I'd recommend that you try it with another USB port and/or USB cable just in case. Also you could download the manufacturer's (or a third party) diagnostic tool to make sure that everything's OK with the drive itself.
