Recently upgraded my system, and now I can supply my WD Passport 1 TB with USB 3.0 ports. However it seems to only be detected through USB 2.0 ports. Any ideas? The drive 'works' as in I hear the disk spinning and I can see the light flickering, however it's only read and accessed by "my computer" on USB 2.0

Mobo is Gigabyte 990fx ud3

Hi there Devilmonk,

I would also say that this should be a driver issue. You can go to your MOBO's website and download the USB 3.0 drivers as ThatVietGuy suggested.
After that you can go to Device Manager, uninstall the drive and plug it in a USB 3.0 port. It should download the drivers automatically.
