external dvd drive compatibility with sony bravia hd tv

Can I play movie DVDs by Transcend Slim Portable CD/DVD Writer(model no.TS8XDVDRW-K) on SONY BRAVIA full hd tv & on desktop, through USB connection? If not then suggest me an external DVD drive, which is compatible with Sony bravia full hd tv & desktop.

To play DVD-video you should buy a DVD player for the TV, not a computer DVD drive.
