I have a spare Toshiba THNSN5512GPUK TLC NVME PCI-E M.2 512gb SSD Solid State Drive and would like to put it in an external enclosure for a fast USB portable drive. Which enclosure will work? Sounds like the PCI-E part makes it more difficult to find. Thanks.

You need an adapter for M.2 to SATA adapter then you can use that in an external enclosure as if it was a normal drive.

You would be wasting a ton of money doing this.
For one you'll cut max drive speeds in half (probably more) ,& secondly it'll be expensive to do.

I too would like the external enclosure between PCIe 3 and USB/Thunderbolt 3. The reason for me is to clone my laptop OS drive (PCIe), this can be accomplished without concerns about the time it takes (background or overnight) so I could have my laptop back in less than 15 minutes in the event of failure. I only use the PCIe drive for system and programs and store the data on a SATA SSD which I clone weekly and backup hourly. And yes I've had a Samsung 1 TB 850 EVO fail on me.
