Hey I was wondering if I will be fine using a "Mobile HD" in an External Enclosure. When a Hard Drive says it's "Mobile" or specified for Laptops, does that mean anything other than it's small? It still works the exact same as an internal HD for a desktop, correct?

I was given a Hitachi 120GB 5400/8MB 2.5" Mobile SATA HD. If I throw that into a 2.5" SATA to USB 2.0 External Closure, will it be able to work fine as extra storage from my laptop?

Thank you.

Assuming the drive is alright, it should work just fine. The only difference being that it probably will be slower than a standard 3.5 inch drive (i.e. 5400 RPM instead of 7200 RPM). Just pay attention to the power requirements for the enclosure, as some of them require 2 USB's to be hooked into a laptop to work. You can also use it with a standard desktop.
