I need an external floopy disc drive to read 3.5" discs formatted in W-95;98. Currently running Win 7. Bought a Sabrent model SBT-UFDB but doesn't work with W 95. Help?
Is the media 360KB, 720KB or 1.44MB ? I don't think that disks were formatted differently under W98. It may be that the disk drive can't read anything except 1.44MB disks....
Learn somthin' new... Shows how long since I cared about floppies .... After reading the article that @ex_bubblehead points to, it seems that the older versions of Windows were incomplete if you formatted the disks. Although it sounds like pre-formatted media didn't have that problem. BUT who knows how many times those floppies were reformatted .... Hmm.... The workaround does NOT sound like fun...
