Hello.
I have an external hard which I accidentally stepped on it very softly (while it was connected). It was so soft that I didn't even think that it could have damaged it or feel anything broken inside it.
After that it stopped working. The PC recognizes it after 30seconds but it doesn't show any data inside it.
I took it to a place which they tried recovery software but it didn't work. Then I took it to a place which claimed to use special hardware devices, specialized for recovering hard drives. But they failed to recover too.
I believe the data's are inside my device and there is still a way to recover it. Please help me.

Best regards.
Freddy.

Sorry to say no.
Most external hard drives come in an enclosure.
And often house a 2.5" hard drive.
If you stepped on it you most likely pushed the read and write heads of the drive onto the magnetic disk platter.
Damaging the platter and the read and write heads of the drive.

Sorry Freddy, it`s goose is cooked.
You need a new drive.
The lesson, don`t put it on the floor to be stepped on.
Always keep a backup of the files on another drive if it is very important to you.
