External hard disk crashed

My WD passport fell down and its not working ,when i connect to my system its detecting but some weird sounds are coming ,Can you guys please let me know how can i recover the same

If im being honest ill be surprised if you can recover anything. This is the danger of using an external drive.

If your drive has fallen and hit something (the ground, desk etc) then its likely that the needles which were in use are now crashed/broken/stuck inside, thus not enabling the drive to read/write.

You could try a recovery boot CD and try load up the drive that way, I doubt it will work.
