External hard disk not working even after using chkdsk

I have an old(3 yrs or so) Toshiba 1TB external hard disk. It stopped working recently (shows up in the file explorer but with no name tag and isn't working). So naturally, used the following command -> chkdsk /f F:

But after it completed, there was no change at all, even though it said that the hard disk was fixed or something.

It's either damaged or contains a virus or malware. Replace it. Hard Drives costs nothing these days.

Do you have any data there which you'd need? Try just reformatting it, either from Disk Manager, or File Explorer.
