I have an external WD 4TB USB hard drive. Hard disk gets power only when microusb 3.0 type B end of cable is pressed by force of hands against microusb 3.0 type B socket of external hard drive. If force of hands is removed, external hard drive power is switched off. Hard disk repairman opened hard disk and told me that socket of hard disk is not loose. What might be the problem with my hard drive? How can I fix this problem?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Have you tried testing with another USB cable? From my experience, it's possible that there's a mechanical and electrical failure with your USB connector on the external drive to require you to add pressure to the cable to allow for the drive to work.

Yes. But, it is still not powering external hard disk without pressure.
