External Hard drive broken

Hi guys
I own a Iomega 1TB external hard drive, which uses its own power supply
But I think I might have broken the power portion of the drive by plugging in a different power supply to it.
so the power is basically gone, it doesn't even light up anymore.

But my question is, would I be still able to save the data, or the actual hard drive?
I want to just plug it into my new computer, but I was wondering if there might be any problems, or complications.

it should have a regular SATA drive inside which you should be able to connect directly to the motherboard
