So I have 2 hard drives (1TB and 4TB) that I currently can't fit into my computer due to lack of sata connections, so I was looking around for an external enclosure that supports at least 2 drives.
My question is, if I connect it over eSata to USB C/A, can I run both those drives as a 5TB raid? And if not is there any other option I could look into?

No.
Different size drives do not RAID well..

1TB + 4TB + RAID 1 = 1TB RAID array (mirror)
1TB + 4TB + RAID 0 = 2TB RAID array (striped)

Preferable option?
Don't RAID at all.

So if I were to put the two drives in and connect them, would they just show up as two separate drives?
