I have a bunch of old hard drives I got out of old computers and I want to run them all in RAID0 but my case doesnt have the room. I wouldnt want to run these on USB ports because that would slow down the speed right? I've seen some hard drive enclosures online and they're like $400 which seems crazy and probably not meant for what I'm trying to do. Can I connect all 6 of my drives to one sata port on my mb using something like this?

https://www.ebay.com/i/383545918209?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=383545918209&targetid=935083617267&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=9008843&poi=&campaignid=10454522054&mkgroupid=104612010220&rlsatarget=pla-935083617267&abcId=2146002&merchantid=6296724&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3bX3u5_Y7AIVCvCzCh2plgjYEAQYByABEgIphPD_BwE

I just want to make use of these old drives in a cheap way, some of them have 22,000 hours of use.

Well see that enclosure is $150 and for $150 I could get a pretty good SSD. I'm not really sure why it needs to cost 150 when it's just a fan, power supply, and converts sata to esata.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Syba-SD-SATA-EP-eSATA-to-SATA-Bracket-Port-For-External-Hard-Drive-/331255843052?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=331255843052&targetid=934793863616&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=9008843&campaignid=10454521898&mkgroupid=104612009940&rlsatarget=pla-934793863616&abcId=2146002&merchantid=101500421&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyfPxlqPY7AIVS-G1Ch3E6g4GEAQYGSABEgKHNPD_BwE&pageci=7683cd1a-3d59-4c00-89c5-1419bfce3dc8&epid=134221816
- this thing would make it external, I could just enable hotplug incase it got unplugged accidentally

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-To-5-SATA-18AWG-Wire-Power-Cable-Splitter-Adapter-For-PC-Server-HDD-SSD-White/123414960871?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=123414960871&targetid=934793863376&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=9008843&campaignid=10454521898&mkgroupid=104612009940&rlsatarget=pla-934793863376&abcId=2146002&merchantid=101510359&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIi-nRq6LY7AIVEAiICR3vxAMGEAQYASABEgKg3PD_BwE&pageci=c3a26856-4a99-44dd-bf3b-2037d5b6259b
- I could use this to power the drives, but I would also need one of those power supply's that converts the ac power to molex.

But I'm not sure converting 5 data cables to 1 would work or if my computer would even recognize that theres 5 different drives.

I'm thinking I could make my own enclosure but like I said it's completely useless if the sata port hub doesnt work.

I've never installed a SATA port multiplier, but I would think that you would need to make sure that your OS supports it. Without proper software support, you might only be able to detect the first SATA port. If you can get staggered spin-up to work, that would minimise the startup load on your PSU.

If you look at the 3rd ebay link I posted, that's how I would power the drives. It converts molex to 4 hard drives power connectors. I would also need the inverter thing that turns the ac wall outlet into a molex connector.

"but my case doesnt have the room "

All that you linked is internal.

All these little parts add up. And would still require some sort of box to hold it all.
Or, a fully contained box, as I linked above.

That makes the power completely independent from the computer.

I plan to make a box out of wood or metal to hold the drives and everything. So that the only thing coming out the box is 1 sata cable, and then the power cable which is plugged into the wall not the computer. Instead of having to pay $100 for something that can only hold 4 drives, I'll be paying around $30 for something that can hold all 6 of my drives. I already have the tools and supplys to make the box and I plan to give it vents and make sure nothing is vibrating, maybe a fan if it needs it.

The "inverter thing" would be a PSU. If you spin up all 6 drives at once, then that will place a heavy load on this PSU, as much as 120W. Also, if you use a PC PSU, then you may need a load balancing power resistor, otherwise the 5V rail may not properly track the 12V rail.
