So I have a Seagate 2 TB USB 3.0 external that was of my cousin's. I was copying some movies when my computer crashed while the process was still ongoing. After that my cousin's drive was now not readable and only sometimes seen as not initialized in the disc management.

Please help some files here are important to my cousin.

Is there anyway I could recover files?

Ill try but it basically just says "Disk 2: Not initialized" and nothing else, no gigabytes shown.

We do have a Do It Yourself software that will check to see what files are recoverable and which are not. Our knowledge base has more information on how it works.

What seems to be the cause for this?

I'm still trying with the Seagate tool but it takes so long.

Yes, the process does take a while and is dependent on the size of the drive.

But can it still get the files in there using the seagate tool? There might be some important files there.
