I have been using my 2TB external hard drive with no problems until now. Last week the usb connection started to fail as the socket had started to come loose. I have replaced it with a whole new enclosure.
When I plugged it in it asked me to format the drive which I cancelled. After cancelling the format it it came up with message saying,
"The volume does not contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted."
The drive shows up on Disk Management but it has been split into two partitions with the majority of the space being unallocated.
Sorry if this has been asked before but the data on there is very important to me and I need it back, so if any can help me fix it would be very much appreciated.
