[SOLVED] External hard drive not working

Good day. I have a Samsung external hard drive. When it is powered, it makes a couple of clicking sounds then powers off. The led starts blinking. When I unplug and plug it, the same thing repeats itself.
How do I remedy this?

The clicking sound is indicative of the enclosure either having an HDD that is faulty or failing or has failed or that the internal circuitry is compromised and can't deliver necessary power to the drive.

Can this be fixed?

Remove the hdd from the enclosure and mount it in a desktop....power and data.
See if it spins up makes the clicking sound.
