i partitioned my Toshiba external hard drive into 3 different hard drives, the first one and the main one is perfectly fine, but the other two partitions worked fine for awhile but now they are randomly blank and need to be formatted. it will sometimes pop up and say data error(cyclic redundancy check). i have a lot of data on there that i need to keep so what do i do to get my data back?

You need to replace the drive because it's showing signs of impending failure, as testing will probably confirm:
http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support/downloads/item/seatools-win-master/

And you shouldn't rely on a single storage device for data. If it's important you need to keep it backed up on a second storage device (but not a pen drive).

You can try partition recovery software: http://www.easeus.com/partition-recovery/
