External hard drive says it is unreadable or corrupted

My external drive is 80 GB I have lot of Imp data allocated on it and now suddenly while accessling it says it is unreadable or corrupted, I also checked in properties it says 0 bytes

Attach it, make sure that it is powered up, and look in disk management of Windows -- you should see it there. Right click and assign it a drive letter, then it should become accessible.
