Question External hard drive suddenly stopped working

My Toshiba SB Hard Drives Canvio Basics HDTB105XK3AA 1 TB external hard drive suddenly has stopped working. I tried by connecting it to several computers but the disc is not getting detected on any pc. It does not show up in the disk management section or under devices or anything. When I connect the external disk all I get is a single click sound and that is all and the regular power hum sound. Any idea what is wrong with it. I appreciate any guidance as a lot of important data exists on that drive.

If the data is important. where is the backup?

not under warranty, unfortunately, was backing up others did not reach this one yet
