External Hard drive (Unknown, Not Initialized) Can any one help me ?

Hey everyone, hope to find a solving for my problem here.

I had a new laptop with Windows 8.1 pro, then i put my old laptop hard drive (WD 500GB SATA) in external hard drive to pull the data from it.
First i opened it on other laptop (with Windows 7 Professional) and i could see the content and delete some data, Put when using the hard on the my laptop with WIN 8.1 it does not read and showed in Disk Management as (Disk 1, Unknown, Not Initialized). I looked for solving but didn't know what to do.
I connect it again in the Laptop with WIN 7 but it didn't read!
The External Hard Drive Case working good (i tried it with other Hard Drive).
The External Hard Drive Case (With my Hard Drive in it) dropped from me once on ground (after seeing the content on WIN 7 Lap), but it was not so hard (like a meter high).

The Disk shows on Disk Management as:

Disk 1
Unknown

Not Initialized

Please Help....

Hi there Joedell,

You most probably lost the partitions. You can try using some partition recovery software. A possible cause could be unplugging the drive with no safe ejection. Check this out: http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/288692-disk-1-unknown-not-initialized-unallocated.html
After you recover your data, I would advise you to test the drive with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=VIXpg3

I tried using Minitool Partition Wizard 7 but it didn't show the hard drive, no space available

Have you find out a solution ? because I have exactly the same problem than you, My 2 To external drive is showing not initialized ...I f you haveresolved this, please Help ! Thanks
