External hard issues

Guys when i plug in my external hard my computer doesnt detect it but this was my first problem then it started to show a blue screen with this error on it dpc_watchdog_violation and makes my computer heavy and slow so does any one have a solution ??

New external hard drive required. The one you have has become faulty, that's what is triggering the watchdog error.

External hard drives are more prone to failure compared to internal hard drives. Because the actual hard drive is encased inside an enclosure with hardly any empty space inside it, it tends to overheat more readily. This damages the drives electronic components.

Solution? I already gave you it -- buy a new one. Western Digital ones are the most reliable ones in my experience.
