This could be both driver as well as hardware related.
You can rule out drivers as being the cause for this if you just attach it to another system.
If the issue persists, you can use a different cable. If this does not sort the things out, then I guess your system recognizes the enclosure but not the HDD inside. In that case, you can:
- Just RMA the drive if it is under warranty.
- Contact a data recovery company if the data stored on the drive is crucial.
- Some users take the drive out of the enclosure and attach it internally. Keep in mind that this will not work if the device is hardware encrypted or has some proprietary connectors. Also, this will void the warranty.
