Question External HD - Folders disappeared

Hi.

I'm using windows 10.
I have noticed folders disappearing from my usb hd, and more and more folders appear with a GUID name (i.e. df34hd830gsdf8h9) and when i click them, they are mostly empty.

When I try to navigate directly to a folder name that I can remember it's path, I can access it and see the files.

What's going on?

It might be your hard drive is failing.
Make sure that you propery eject it from computers, as that might be what's causing the problem.
