Hi
I have a couple of internal 3.5 HDD that I will need to turn them into an external drive because of lack of SATA port available. I will like to know which brand of those box is of the best quality and will I have to consider anything about power supply ? Do they come with any power supply?

Can you guys suggest a brand or model that is of the durable quality? I had one made in China that went problems after few months of use

Solution
If you're looking for an enclosure that you can connect any HDD/SDD as an external I recommend the following:

$20 ORICO Toolfree USB 3.0 to SATA External Hard Disk Drive Enclosure (http://amzn.to/2ffVjzx)

This one is USB 3.0 and also includes power adapter. It works with every drive HDD/SSD and all sizes.

You could also use:

$25 Inateck Aluminum USB 3.0 Hard Disk Drive Enclosure for 2.5 Inch/ 3.5 Inch (http://amzn.to/2ehSyM1)

It is aluminum so it should be more durable than a plastic enclosure

Hey there, brannsiu.

Unfortunately, as an official Western Digital representative, I can't recommend a specific device which is not under the WD brand. But, what I wanted to say is that you should look for 3.0 USB external enclosures (for optimal speed), which support the capacity of your drives. And another important thing, since you've mentioned power supply - if your drives are 3.5" they will definitely need external power supply (which should be OK as most 3.5" external enclosure feature a power adapter).
Another option would be an HDD/SSD dock station.

Hope that helps.
