hi all! i got this, "data error (cyclic redundancy check)" error message yesterday when i tried to open a folder on my external HDD (and i'm using this one: https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Barracuda-7200-11-Drive-ST31000340AS/dp/B000UC3CN0 )
ofc, i immediately googled the error and tried this chkdsk method, but after some time of scanning, the ETA was 999:000:000. there is no way i can wait that long to finish the scan
then i started opening other folders, and there was no error. so basically, some folders are working and some don't, and the folder that i need the most isn't opening. i already saved some of the folders that are opening, but that one, that i need, it just doesn't want to copy or to open
i tried some data recovery tools, but they are usually a paid one($60)
any help?
