External HDD disappears when plugged in internally.

Hi guys,
I have a 1TB samsung external hdd and i realy dont have any need for an external so I took out the hdd and plug it in my pc as a secondry hdd. It shows up in my computer and then it dissapears again and then i have to restart the pc to see the drive again. What can that be?
