Question External HDD gets stuck whilst decrypting a partition ?

Hello everyone,

I have an Adata HD710 Pro External HDD with 5TB capacity, It gets stuck after a few seconds while dycripting a partition and it's indicator light changes from BLUE to RED. The drive opens the partion just for few seconds and then gets stuck.

Can any one please help me my as all my important data is stored on this partition?

From what I can read about that particular hdd <link> there is no mention about internal encryption or encryption software from adata.

This raises a few questions:

• What method and software did you use to encrypt the disk (Was it Microsoft NTFS encryption or something else)
• Have you ever dropped the hdd (or other mechanical impacts) while in operation (question goes despite the hdd is said to have some protection against it) ?
• Was that hdd working before ?

Were you testing drive durability claims by dropping it onto hard surface from 1.5m height?
Mechanical drives rarely survive that.
Even with extra padding on Adata enclosure you should not be doing that.
