External HDD not getting recognized

I have an external HDD (Seagate Backup Plus Desktop Drvie 2 TB Wired External Hard Drive) and had connected this to 3.0 usb hub (Anker Hub 4 Ports Builtin 68ANHUB-02B4A USB USB Hub). the problem is when i connect the hub to a 2.0 port it works perfectly but when i connect the hub to a 3.0 port the HDD is not getting recognized...Please someone help.. If i connect HDD directly it works...Why is this happening

Hi can you provide a component list at all? Might be able to see if this is a driver issue, which is most often the case.

Hi there Vijayashree Hegde,

Is this the only device attached to the hub? You can disconnect all the other devices.
I guess you can try something simple as just attaching another USB 3.0 drive to hub or trying the hub on another system. Though, my guess would be that there is something wrong with it. So, it may be a good idea to contact the manufacturer.

The hub is fine it works on usb 2.0 and also on another computer....Its the usb 3.0 drive that is causing the problem... I installed intel usb 3.0 driver and all of a sudden all my usb ports stopped working ... my keyboard and mouse works only in BIOS and in safemode... Plz Some one Help

Try using the system restore option so you can get at least your USB 2.0 ports working fine: http://www.informationweek.com/how-to-use-windows-7-restore-points/d/d-id/1098556?

I booted the computer in safemode and uninstalled the 3.0 drive and again rebooted in normal mode... And the 2.0 usb ports worked fine.... I just want to utilise the usb 3.0 drives becoz i hav 6 usb 3.0 and its really frustrates me that i cant use them as usb 3.0 but i can use them as usb 2.0...
