External hdd partition not showing in Boot menu.

But it does show in boot manager.

here are my step of installing win10 using media creation tool:

The only step skipped was marking partition as active. the option was grayed out. It could be because its GPT.

In the external hdd, I have 2 partitions. One with some documents and the other one with windows 10 as shown in the link.

In the bios or boot menu, it shows a hdd entry but its not for booting into windows.

Well you skipped the part that would enable the disk to be bootable, which is why it does not work

"You’ll now need to make the Windows To Go partition active so your computer will boot off that partition when you choose to boot from the external device."

Try this on a clean USB disk setup as MBR.
