Question External HDD problem ?

Hi, I just plugged in my HDD 3.5 To mu Unit Via SATA /USB Adapter, but the screen immediately goes black !!!!!!
Please Help

This isn't your OS drive (drive with windows installed), right?

Also, can you verify if the drive is indeed working, and not faulty?

3.5" HDDS need a power adapter on USB interface.

Don't see where 12v power is coming from, Those ere 2 different USB adapters.

Do you have a PC to test the HDD if its working without the adapter?

It could also be a problem with the adapter or its connection.

In the model above, the red black yellow cable gets the power via 220/ 5-12v transformer

it was working fine as an internal disc, I don't understand why it won't work in external one ???

I don't have another HDD and yes the adapter is new
