Question External Monitor to Laptop Input Lag

My Dell XPS 15 2in1 Laptop runs games fine. When I connect an external monitor the games display a heavily noticeable input lag. I am extending the display and making the external my primary monitor. However, in games like woW my fps is fine, mouse moves fine but noticeable in game input lag like scrolling through a list. Is there a way to fix this? My gpu is radeon Vega RL M

Yes, after much research I think I narrowed down the issue to my using a D6000 dock station which does not connect to the native GPU but uses its own chip unlike the TB 16.

Would I be able to fix this by purchasing a miniuDiplayPort to DisplayPort adapter and directly connecting my monitor to my Laptop bypassing the station or do I need to buy a docking station taht utilizes my Thunderbolt 3 port?

Personally your laptop has enough horsepower to run the monitor. I would use the display port directly. Imho.
