I bought a Tesla K80 for some deep learning work. It doesn't have a fan and I want to jam it in my rig. This guy has an intriguing solution that involves a glue gun and some tin foil:

I'm going to start with that, but then I saw this, it's a tiny picture but note the big honking square fans mounted on top of the back of the expansion slots:

I Googled for a long time and couldn't find anything like these. Is there a name and a vendor for this kind of fan? I realized there's not a big market (all purchasers of used obsolete server cards trying to jam them into consumer PCs), but still.

I imagine those are standard fans for racked servers with custom brackets from whoever built that chassis. You could certainly track down a rack chassis and get some high RPM fans to replicate the environment it is supposed to go in.

Being a dual GPU board, not a lot of things that would fit it otherwise. Possible a Titan Z cooler will fit it? Might be some waterblocks that might do the trick if you don't mind getting into that.

Otherwise I would just prowl around on ebay or amazon and look for server parts.

Maybe enough room for two all-in-one CPU coolers?

Here is a picture of the SuperMicro box and it clearly shows the red fans positioned over the GPUs externally, plus 2 not over the GPUs:

and here on a SuperMicro the exact same fan model but not over the GPUs

I'm going to try Google image search to find those distinctive red blocky fans.

Another solution involves printing a 3D part for $30 and attaching a fan on the inside edge of the card:

Actually here is a solution which eliminates need to 3D print a cooling fan shroud. I may do both DIY solutions: tinfoil fan outside case and this adaptation on inside end of the card:
