Hi! My rig-
FX 6300
ASUS M5A 78L MLX3
8GB Transcend DDR3
1TB WD Blue
Corsair VS550
So, whenever I plug in my graphics card which requires external power it doesn't display. I tried everything i even switched motherboard to Gigabyte GA78 LMT S2. Now, i took it to a repair shop and they put in another gfx which didn't require external power and it displayed. What is the problem here? Can anyone help?
Also, I was gonna change the platform to intel with G4560 and H110M mobo and ddr4 ram plus an rx 470 but was gonna keep the old components, will it display then? Please help, its been more than half a year now and I'm dying to game.
Thanks

Hmm, that then rules out a power supply issue then. (seemingly)
I agree with the above post then that you might have a funky card.
Perhaps try another one, but one that requires the extra power connector this time.
Does not help testing with a slot powered card only.
If you still have no joy with another card, then perhaps we could be looking at PSU or motherboard.
(shooting in the dark here now since stuff is currently working)
I suspect that he means using the PCIe connectors.
I suspect, mate, that either your card is faulty or your power supply is faulty.
Trying plugging in a card that does require extra power to test if it's the power supply or not.
If it works, then your card is at fault.

Hi, Yes, I changed both graphics card and PSU but it didn't work. By external power i mean the 6-pin connector.
I haven't gotten around to checking another card that requires ext. power.

I mean the 6 pin connector from the PSU.

Yes, the 6 pin one. I seem to have forgotten it. i have made the edits.
