I am planning on building my first computer. I want to build it inside of an HP Silimline Case ( http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01623239 ) which I know isn't the best of choices but I still want to do it. I choose the following hardware..

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TCpWjc

Intel Core i5-6400
ASRock H110M Mini-ITX Motherboard
Crucial 8GB DDR4 Memory
ADATA SP900 256GB SSD
MSI GeForce GTX 1050 2GB Low Profile

The only issue I am running into is the power supply. The 1050 has a recomended minimum of a 300 watt power supply. The only power supply form factor that this case will support is a TFX power supply, most of these have bad reviews and die within a few months.
I was wondering if it were possible to buy a Corsair SF450 ( https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139156&cm_re=corsair_sf450-_-17-139-156-_-Product ) and turn it into an external power supply for this build.

Thanks in advanced 😀

Solution
The HP Pavilion Slimline s3713w doesn't use a TFX form factor power supply. It's Flex ATX.

Using an external PSU isn't a big deal its been done, but its just kind of a hokey idea, defeats the purpose of a little case. There are other little cases you can get , I would recommend that route instead.

The other thing to keep in mind is while an ITX board may fit, HP, Dell and others often have different screw patterns, so theres a chance you won't be able to mount it.

thank you, I had checked to see if the bolt patterns were the same on both board and they are. 😀

Ok thats good, some are different some are not.

Honestly I looked for TFX PSUs and if you're stuck on this idea I would consider taking my chances with one of those replacement ones, maybe get a 450w unit so you're not taxing it much. Wiring up a PSU outside the case means you will also need a dual PSU harness to trigger it.

Like this for example

or

Thanks!

I'll look into the bottom link. :)

Trust me when i say it pains me to recommend that generic stuff, they are not great generally, however if you go with a high power one and don't push it maybe it will reliably put out 300w on a spike, and for your system thats more than enough.

Its still better than running a PSU outside the case.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from waffleisback : "What do you think about my part list?"

Please keep in mind that this will be my first computer build. I also want to build inside of an HP Slimline Desktop Case, I know that it is not a good idea to build a computer inside and OEM case let along for your first build. I also know that this case is a very slim and small computer case which makes it hard to find a good power supply. A link to the computer case I plan to use can be found below :

Computer Case Link
Anyways here is the part list.

Intel Core i5-6500
ASRock H110M Mini-ITX Motherboard
Crucial 8GB DDR4 Memory
ADATA SP900 256GB 2.5" SSD
MSI GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB Low Profile Video Card
SeaSonic SS-350M1U 350w Power Supply

Thanks in advanced for all the help :)
