Question External SSD causes Slow WiFi

If you have a PCIe WiFi card with external antenna or a USB WiFi dongle plugged into the back of the computer, right next to the NVMe enclosure, this is a classic case of EMI.

As you've already discovered, separating the offending NVMe enclosure and moving it around to the front of the computer has improved WiFi speeds.

Even better would be an Ethernet connection from the PC to the broadband router if they're in the same room. Ethernet is practically immune from this type of EMI.

Turns out this wasnt the issue but updating the bios and chipset fixed it
