External SSD not showing up.

Hi, I bought a 240 GB ssd, and i bought 2 different external cases. they are both usb 3.0. When i plug them into my pc, the plug and play thing pops up for just half a second. when i look in device manager, it shows "ASMT 2105 USB Device" so i know it connects to the computer. when i look in disc management, I think, not sure tho, that there is a disc that is the ssd, but it says 223 gb, unallocated space. Idk what to do to get it to show up. thank you.

You need to format the SSD and create a partition that you can use for the data.

Right click on the unallocated disk an create a primary partition.
