Hey guys, although SSDs have come down in price, it seems that hard disks have gone up. I'm waiting for Black Friday and hoping the £100 mark-up will be taken back off again..!

Anyway, a couple of years ago, I put a 2TB drive in the system and the Windows 10 installation on the small SSD no longer worked. To save that kind of hassle this time, I found these 2 external caddy items, but I'm unsure as to which one would be more suitable:

Thanks for your time.

Sorry my friend, I rushed ahead with my question and didn't explain the situation properly.

I have Windows 10 on a 500GB SSD, but said OS installation of 70GB+ has contributed to having only 150GB available. I have a 4TB D: drive and a 500GB E: drive, both of which are full. Obviously, I really need an upgrade. 6 & 8TB would be pointless because they'd be already over half full, so I was looking at 10 or 12TB drives. Because I previously had the issue where adding another drive directly inside my PC rendered the Windows installation on the SSD useless, I found a solution in having the new, larger drive outside, connected in some form of external enclosure or docking station.

I realised later that the enclosure in the first link is only for up to 10TB and the second option is up to 12TB, so my question is answered depending on which capacity of drive I choose.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me and sorry I didn't come back for a while.
