Hi, I have Seagate barracuda usb 3.0 1tb ext hdd. Is there any possibilities to convert this into internal HDD.

"I think it's only WD who uses USB interface boards on some of their external drives."

Actually, all external hard drives have an interface board (bridge chip) attached to the actual hard drive, the difference is some of the drives inside the enclosure have a standard SATA port, whilst others have a proprietary port which can't be used as an internal drive for that reason.

Be aware that the controller on many of the larger external drives uses non-standard addressing. You can move such drives from the external enclosure to a SATA connection in your PC, but you will not be able to read any pre-existing data. You will have to reformat the drive before you can use it inside the computer.
