Hi all,

I have been enjoying the fruits of my first build quite thoroughly, however I am unable to conveniently use my Hitachi Touro Mobile 1TB external through the front panel 3.0 ports. All other ports work including the mobo's 3.0 and 2.0 ports as well as the front panel 2.0 ports. When I plug into the front 3.0 ports the light on the drive lights up but does not flash, and Windows doesn't pick up on it. I have a Fractal Design R4 case and an Asus A78M-A motherboard, I'm running Windows 7. Any ideas?

maybe the front panel ports are data only and provide no power or not enough power to the sdd via the socket.
As above check your drivers are 100% installed and working (use a flash drive for easy check)

I actually installed all the drivers from a flash drive when I put the computer together, I had downloaded the chipset drivers from the asus website. When I plug a flash drive into either of the 3.0 ports on the front it reads just fine. I don't feel like they are fully non-powered ports since the SSD lights up when it's plugged into them, am I mistaken? or are they just not providing ENOUGH power?
