Hi, I am trying to connect my NexStar CX USB 3.0 external HDD to my toshiba satellite laptop.
I am by no means a computer genius but I'm not PC illiterate either, I have researched a couple forums to no avail so hopefully a genius can help me out.
I know that the External HDD works fine since I plugged it to my desktop with no issues, also my USB ports on the laptop seem to be fine as i have wireless keyboard and mouse plugged with a USB stick and they work just fine.
When plugging into my desktop, which is a windows 7, i hear the plug in noise and everything works fine, when i try to plug it into my laptop, which is windows 8, it does not work and there's no noise or any kind of error message.
Any help will be much appreciated.
