Extra HDD that has windows 8 on it

Hello, I have an old HDD that has windows 8 on it. im planning on using it on my current pc that has windows 10 in its current drive. if i was to plug the old HDD in would it boot to windows 10 or windows 8 and if their is a problem with just installing the old one. how would i fix it?

Hi, Install it, start the pc, access the BIOS and make sure that the Win 10 drive is the first one listed in the boot priority.

The existing Windows 10 boot drive is set as the first boot device in the BIOS configuration.
That setting will remain fixed unless it is manually changed.

So adding a second drive (even one containing another OS) should not prevent your PC from booting in to Windows 10 as normal.

I merely took it for granted that the OP intended to do that anyway, so I didn't mention it.

The OP only asked if there would be problem adding that HDD to his system, so that's all I covered in my answer. The OP was evidently satisfied with my answer anyway, that's good enough for me.
