extra wifi antenna

Hello everybody,
I'm curious if anyone has attempted to add an extra wifi antenna to a laptop? I'd like to add to my Asus X550L, because my old laptop was better wifi antennas.

I once wired an external antennae to an old Dell Latitude D630 which used an Intel PRO/Set card. Granted, the card had the capacity to add an extra antennae and being a business-oriented laptop, installation wasn't too difficult. I suspect consumer laptops won't be so easy.

You're right it wasn't easy for amateurs like me, but i did, now wifi signal is much better
