[SOLVED] Extract RAR files

Hey there.
I need to be able to extract RAR and Zip files. I used multiple versions- WinZip, 7Zip, and else. I thought- Windows 10 had built in Zip/Rar option and did not need 3rd party any longer? No? What can I install that would not add any junk adware or spyware? Free is nice but can use paid version if I have to. Thank you. Links appreciated.

winrar is generally what is used for rar files. it's free and if you get it from the official source it does not come with any nasty bloat

Windows supports ZIP files since XP days. Some people prey to RAR/7s/etc formats being "Better", "Faster", "Smaller", etc, but the fact that they all need third-party support makes them not appealing for me.

WinZip supports all these, and more then deserves the $20 I've paid for v14 or so (can't stand current versions' UI).

Yeah, this is exactly what in my head. Still not clear- does Windows 10 has onboard Rar extracter or not? Do I need to look for 3rd party? Thank you.

No it doesn’t. Use 7zip. The answers in here seemed pretty clear to me
