Hello all,

I am new to the forums and I am putting together an extreme budget build so that I can play some Steam games and also games like DayZ and The War Z. I will be building another higher end pc in a year or two, but I just want something cheap and dirty that will get my foot in the door right now. I already have a monitor, HDD, keyboard, etc.

Please let me know what you think. I appreciate your advice in advance!

My prospective build is as follows:

CPU:

Mobo:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128540

(Mobo comes with a free set of G.Skill 2x4gb (8gb) ddr3 1600)

Graphics Card:

PSU:

What is your monitor resolution?
What is your total budget?

I am inclined to suggest AMD so far.

My budget would be no more than $300. My monitor is 720p.

Thanks!

Thanks for your input. Most of my games right now would be downloaded off of steam. Games such as Arma 2 and Day Z. I would also like to play The War Z. Is there another card you would recommend for my build? Thanks again...

Hi :)

Its not your choices that are the problem, its your budget.... to play most modern games well you need to spend at least $200 on the graphics card alone....(preferably more)

All the best Brett :)

My suggestion :

Mobo : That mobo is good value for money since you are getting added RAM.

PSU : You REALLY need a quality PSU, ANYTHING cheaper than this I would not suggest. Its quality and delivers enough power.

GPU : This will run MUCH better.

CPU : It is worth getting one a little faster. This CPU is based on Ivy bridge technology and is considerably better.

Total : 300 Dollars.

Its worth the extra few bucks.
