Extremely Fast Battery Drain on Android Lollipop (LG G3)

Hi, I have an LG G3 that has an extraordinarily fast battery drain to it. I have watched many videos on how to improve battery life, and also read many forums and articles on the same topic. I am aware that the 1440p screen is the main culprit, but I have used this phone for a while and it has not depleted its battery this fast until now. I am confused as what to do, so I came here . I have altered many of the settings in an attempt to fix this issue, but have had no luck. Having extremely bad battery life is kind of angering me because I obviously like to use my phone. Thanks for reading, and help is VERY appreciated.

Make sure you don't have any junk running in the background, and make sure you have good signal strength, bad or no signal will rip a battery to shreds as the phone jacks up the power to the antenna. Turn off Bluetooth, gps or wifi if not in use.

you can use this progam to do a custom brightness curve. keeping tht brightness down make a big difference

also you can clear cache partition from recovery

Turn off your phone – you can press power button once for selecting “power off” or you can press and hold the power key for about 5 or 6 seconds.
Now, press and hold Power and Volume down buttons at the same time.
When the LG logo appears, release the keys.
Immediately press Power and Volume Down buttons again until the Hard Reset menu will be displayed.
Press Power button once and confirm the hard reset operation (this will not be necessarily if your LG G3 is running on a custom recovery image).
That’s it; now your LG G3 will boot into recovery mode.

I always disable all of my apps right before locking my phone. I also usually have good signal strength and have bluetooth disable along with the constant wifi network search disabled. GPS is also disabled.

Which version of Lollipop and how did you update to it?

On the Nexus 5 (which is a rebadged LG), one of the causes of battery drain was a bad update. If you updated the phone to Lollipop, some of the old Kit Kat settings hung around and really screwed things up. The "fix" was a factory reset of the phone, followed by wiping the cache partition.

Also, Lollipop 5.1 fixed a lot of the battery drain issues with 5.0.

Thank you for the response, I had already factory reset my phone after updating to lollipop from kitkat, and that worked temporarily. I was looking through my settings yesterday and went to software update and saw that I had 1 pending update, so I updated. That incredibly helped my battery. In fact, this is probably the best my battery has ever been. Thanks.
