Extremely high Temp increase with Turbo?

Hey Guys!
So, i decided to try to activate the Intel Turbo Boost on my 4770k, just to see if it made any noticable difference.

However, i was shocked when i ran prime small fft. WIthout Turbo, my CPU ran Small FFT at about low 60's to mid 60's after running 10 minuttes, but when i ran with Turbo activated, it suddenly hit 80c after five seconds? Is this normal? seems quite a bit high..

My ambient is about 22c, and the cooler i'm using is the Noctua NH-D15.

What version of Prime? If its one of the newer version then thats normal.

Try OCCT and see what you get with turbo enabled.

Yeah try OCCT instead. Its not recommened to use the newer versions of prime95 as it uses AVX2 instructions, which although increases performance, will also heat up the CPU a lot more.
