Hello,

I am currently experiencing some sort of issue with my computer. It appears I am getting a very low physics score in 3DMark Firestrike 1.1 compared to other people with similar CPUs. The physics test utilizes CPU performance, so a low score here is indicative of a CPU issue.

It seems that my GPU performance is great.

I have no processes running that use up a lot of CPU. Sometimes, when I am downloading a game from Steam my CPU reaches nearly 100% for no reason. Even a game as simple as minecraft sometimes has significant FPS drops. PUBG is unplayable and lowering settings does not seem to help. CS:GO performance is lackluster but still very playable. DOOM runs at 110+ FPS, so not sure what's going on. I have no malware. Nvidia settings are set to maximum performance. There are no processes using up significant amounts of CPU.

What steps can I take to troubleshoot this CPU problem?

Thank you so much!!!

Solution
That score is awfully low.

What are your CPU temps? Also run the Test with Gsync disabled.

Your Physics score should be around 30fps according to most people with that CPU GPU combo
