[SOLVED] Extremely regular periodic packet loss

Hi all,

I'm having a problem with extremely regular packet loss between my router and PC. Here are the relevant pieces of information I've been able to debug:

  • Every 10 packets to the router will succeed normally, then two will drop, then the cycle will repeat.
  • It only happens on wireless. Using a powerline ethernet cable did not experience the packet loss (but then itself failed unrelatedly).
  • It only started two days ago. I don't see any Windows updates in that time that could explain it.
  • My husband has been using this computer in the office (he recently upgraded, I started using his old one) and he was not experiencing it previously.
  • It is the only device in this room (or the house) to have any issues with the wifi.
  • The issue persisted even when I physically relocated my desktop to be about 5 meters away from the router in the same room with direct line of sight.
  • The issue is happening on both a Foktech USB wifi dongle and a TL-WN881ND PCI Express Wifi adapter.
  • I am on Windows 10 desktop, as is the other computer without this problem
  • My ISP is Talktalk (UK)
  • There are 13 devices on the network, 12 wireless. 1 wired Hue smart hub, the 12 wireless connections are 2 desktops, 3 mobile phones, 1 smart TV, and the remainder smart lights/Alexa/wireless security cameras.
Here's a sample of a ping to router:

It's interfering with my ability to WFH and game and I have no idea what to try now short of running an ethernet cable through the wall. Please let me know any ideas or requests for more information. Thank you!
